About the game
Tailout is slot car racing in a basement. One trigger, no steering: squeeze to go, lift to slow down, and find out how fast a bend really goes before the car flies off the slot. Tune five cars on the bench, paint them with an airbrush, race ten tracks or build your own, and play with up to four friends on one couch or eight in an online room. It debuts on itch.io, where the base game is free during testing and $4.99 unlocks online play for four accounts; Steam and the App Store follow with the full release. No ads, no analytics, and every car, track and feature added later is free.
Features
- One analog trigger does everything: carry too much speed into a bend and the tail steps out, then the car deslots
- Five cars at 1:32 scale, each with its own feel, and gearing, tires, magnet, guide, springs and brake to tune
- Ten tracks, plus a track builder with banking, climbs, bridges and scenery
- Up to four players on one screen, or online rooms of up to eight
- A full paint shop: airbrush, masking tape, stencils, finishes from matte to chrome and stickers, and your paint job comes with you online
- A Grand Prix against seven levels of bots, where winning at each level unlocks the next car
- An arcade cabinet with ten games, all played with the trigger, plus replays with studio cameras and more than 80 trophies
- No ads, no tracking, and it plays fully offline
