Tailout Privacy Policy

Effective: October 19, 2026

Tailout is a slot car racing game made by Daddio Retro LLC, a Connecticut company ("we", "us"). This policy says what information the game uses, why, who else handles it, and what you can do about it. It covers Tailout on iPhone, iPad, Mac, Windows and Steam, and the website tailoutgame.com.

The short version: we don't ask for your name, email or location, we don't show ads, we don't sell or share anything for advertising, and we don't run analytics in the game. Online play and cloud saves need a few things, described below.

What the game keeps on your device

Your progress, settings, tracks, drivers and paint jobs are saved on your device. They stay there unless you turn on cloud saves or race online.

Cloud saves (optional)

If you turn on cloud saves, the game uses Unity Authentication and Unity Cloud Save, services of Unity Technologies, to keep a copy of your save (we call it your "basement") so you can carry it between your devices.

Unity processes this on our behalf. See Unity's privacy policy: https://unity.com/legal/privacy-policy.

Deleting it. In the game's cloud settings, Delete cloud basement deletes your Unity player and everything kept for them in the cloud. The save on your device stays. You can also write to us (below) and we will delete it for you.

Racing online

When you open or join a room, your device connects to our room server. To run the race, the server receives:

Driver names and track names pass through a word filter before anyone else sees them. The server keeps a short running log of rooms opening and closing and of driver names joining, leaving and reporting, to fix problems; it holds no IP addresses and is overwritten as it grows.

If you join a room that another player opened on their own computer, that player's computer runs the room instead of our server, and any reports made in it are kept there, by them.

Reports and bans

Any player can report another player's driver name, paint job or track. A report is kept on our room server for review and contains: the time, the room, the reporting and reported players' names and player ids, the reason picked and up to 200 characters of the reporter's own words, the reported paint picture or track, and the names and player ids of everyone in the room at the time.

We use reports only to keep online play safe: to remove names, pictures or tracks that break the rules and to stop accounts that do it from playing online. A ban list holds the player ids, picture fingerprints and track fingerprints that are banned, with a short note. Reports are deleted 12 months after they are resolved; bans are kept for as long as they apply.

Apple Game Center and Steam

If you use Game Center or Steam, Apple or Valve handle your account, achievements, leaderboards and friends under their own policies: https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/ and https://store.steampowered.com/privacy_agreement/. We receive only what is needed to sign you in (a player id and a proof that it is you), to award achievements and to post your scores to leaderboards.

Purchases

Tailout is sold through the App Store and Steam. Apple and Valve handle payment; we never see your card details.

What we don't do

Who we share it with

Only the services that run the game for us (Unity for cloud saves and sign-in, and OVHcloud, which hosts our room servers), and anyone the law requires us to tell. They may only use it to provide their service to us.

Our services may be run in the United States and other countries. By using them you understand your information may be handled there.

Children

Tailout is not directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child under 13 has used online play or cloud saves, write to us and we will delete what we hold.

Your choices and rights

You can play Tailout entirely offline without cloud saves. You can delete your cloud basement in the game at any time. You can ask us for a copy of what we hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it, by writing to us with your player id (shown in the game's cloud settings). Depending on where you live (for example the EU, the UK, or California), you may have further rights, including to object or complain to your data protection authority; we will honor them.

Changes

If we change this policy we will update the date at the top and, for meaningful changes, say so in the game or on tailoutgame.com.
